31-year-old Renate Goetschl is an Austrian alpine skier – she finished at the pinnacle in the women’s downhill event clocking 1:55:65. This is the Austrian’s 44th World Cup victory of which she has managed six this season – and this being second in successive days. She made her debut in 1993 and has made 99 odd podium appearances since then at the Worlds. Goetschl won the super G yesterday and in the process tops the super G and the Overall standings. The others to finish on the podium at the downhill event today were Austrian Elisabeth Goergl and Maria Holaus. Read: Eurosport
