Austrian champion Renate Goetschl setting the fastest time in the training session ahead of the final downhill event of the season has heightened her prospects for the Overall title.
Goetschl has already won the Super-G and the downhill titles but slid to the fourth in Overall standings over the weekend - despite, she does have the narrowest of chance to wrap-up the proceedings with a week’s time in hand.
The 31-year-old, Goetschl clocked one minute 23.92 in the practice session - while the two-time Overall champion, Sweden’s Anja Paerson finished second at one minute 24.32.
America’s Julia Mancuso one minute 24.82 for the third spot in training - Julia is also a stiff contender for the Overall title and is placed third on the overall grid.
The race for the Overall women’s title is staged neck to neck - it’ll be interesting to see who turns out the champ.
