The former World Champion was down with an ankle injury during the summer, but as a true competitor didn’t let that affect his preparations for the new season, now when the season unfolds itself he plays down his chances for another victory, this is a wrong perception of his own capabilities. The secret of success lies in the will to succeed, once you have the determination to win then victory despite all odds is yours.
The World Cup Champion Tobias Angerer is looking down on his chances of victory in the opening Cross-Country race of the season, at Duesseldorf, saying he’s out there only to enjoy.
I’m not so string in the sprints any more. But I’m not going to miss the chance to race in the yellow [World Cup leaders’ jersey], and I just want to go out and enjoy the race. Duesseldorf is something special.
The German head coach Jochen Behle believes that Angerer has the ability to pave his way to the top again. That may be true, but it would only be possible if the Champ learns to trust his capabilities and shows the will and determination to win.
