World Cup ski races present a test for 2014 Games

Russia is all set to hold the next winter Olympics. Preparations are already underway for the mega event that will showcase the skiing talent from all across the world. A three day trial run for the same followed by a competition, where leading skiers from across the globe will showcase their skills, will put the organizers and ski lovers in the competition mode.

These competitions are a glimpse of what the venue is going to witness two years from now. The 2014 winter Olympics are scheduled to be held from 7th to 23rd, February, 2014. The organizing committee is upbeat about the success of the proposed event and are viewing the current competition as a trial for the winter Olympics. Dmitry Chernyshenko, the chief of the organizing committee is hopeful of a successful event and has put a lot at stake for conducting the event smoothly.

Tough challenge

The organizing committee is facing some challenges as well. While construction delays in biathlon venue and ski jumping site has been a bone of contention for the organizers, the successful completion of alpine ski courses have given hope to the organizing committee for the winter Olympics, 2014.

Extensive preparations are underway for the mega event in 2014. Coaches, trainers and athletes will be arriving in Sochi and need to be escorted to the alpine venue that is located 50 miles further up.

Vonn who is competing for his fourth world cup title is optimistic about the success of the mega event and is taking the present three day trial in all its seriousness.

Three olympic courses have been designed for the mega event and the three day trial followed by Men’s downhill and super combined events will showcase the might of the venue to the world.
